Through the Word: God Remembers

Week 1: Genesis 1-35; Job 1-42; Matthew 1-21

Today marks the end of week 1 of our 90 Days Through the Word Challenge.  Thank you for joining me and/or thank you for praying for me!! If you haven't started yet, it's not too late!  You can find last week's entry HERE.

The Bible is an amazing book. It never ceases to amaze me how I can read the same verses for the tenth or hundredth time and have the Lord show me something new out of them!  I'm sure that you can say the same thing.  The Word of God is alive and inexhaustible in its wisdom.  Is it any wonder that the child of God is commanded to study and rightly divide it?

The one thing that stood out to me this week is just what a personal God we serve!  God not only knows each one of us by name, but He remembers us.  I recently started picking out a couple of people each week from our church and learning their names.  With a church of 400+, people coming and going and our own family moving away and coming back, there are a lot of people that I recognize but do not know by name.  It takes an effort to get to know people.  Not so with the Lord!!  He never forgets our names or anything else about us!

Gen 8:1  And God remembered Noah...
Gen 19:29  ...God remembered Abraham...
Gen 30:22  And God remembered Rachel...

And God remembers me!  And God remembers YOU!

What a thrill!  I do not have to bow down to the Lord in prayer and remind Him of who I am and where I'm at.  He knows me!  He thinks of ME!

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me:...
(Psa 40:17)

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
(Psa 139:17)

Can you imagine that? The God of Heaven thinks about each one of us and He says that those thoughts are precious!  So the next time you're feeling alone or that nobody cares, remember that God does.
