Greetings from NC

Hello blog friends!

I thought I'd take a minute to say hello from the lovely state of NC!  We left for vacation last Monday, 9/20 and after an uneventful two hour flight, landed safely in Charlotte.  I'm not one that loves flying so I was very thankful to have my feet firmly planted back on the ground.

This vacation hasn't quite gone as planned with our youngest having some GI issues (for those who do not know, she suffers from unexplained GI problems) and even having to miss church Sunday night because of it.  As I sat in the hotel room, taking care of 3g8, I had a nice pity party for myself.  We had flown down here specifically to be in church, hear some good preaching and get refreshed, yet there I was sitting in the hotel room.  You know what? God knew that was going to happen and He still had a plan in all of it.

Last night, we were able to go hear our Pastor preach at a nearby revival and it was there that the Lord had exactly what *I* needed.  What a blessing to know that the Lord is in control of it all.  The Lord clearly showed me some things in my life that I needed to make right with him and reminded me of the need to be thankful for all that He's blessed me with.  Truly, I am blessed beyond measure!  Our pastor urged us once again to live holy lives for our Lord and said that "holy blessings do not come through unholy living." Amen!

On the way home, we were listening to some singing from our church choir here in NC.  In the midst of one of the songs, our Preacher began to talk and he reminded me of a verse that gives me so much hope for the future.  Psalm 84:11b  ...: no good thing will he [the Lord] withhold from them that walk uprightlyTHAT is a promise my friends!  A promise that I had lost sight of. God's promises are the same today as they were a month or a year or a decade ago.  The Lord is faithful.  He will do what he has promised to do.  You can rest in that....I can rest in that.

So, thank you Lord for blessing me from your Word. Thank you for a church family that loves us and has taken such good care of us while we've been here. Thank you for a Pastor who preaches the truth straight and in love.  And thank you most of all for your Son, Jesus Christ. Truly, no one ever cared for me like Jesus.

Have a blessed day, my friends.  Pray for us as we leave Thursday evening. We'll be landing back in NH just after midnight on Friday morning and then we have a two hour drive home from there.  Thank you!
