Bible Reading Challenge: Week 3

I'm a couple of days late in posting this but I think it'll be ok since it seems that I'm talking to myself anyway! lol  If anyone is still with me, I'd love to hear how this week has gone.

For me, it has been the most challenging by far. I have battled the responsibilities of life as well as the laziness of my flesh!  I missed a day and a half of reading, which left me needing to spend several hours after the family was in bed, catching up.  Some might ask, "why bother?".  The only thing I can tell you is that completing this challenge is extremely important to me.  I feel like it's something that I have to do.

One thing I have learned is that I have to manage my time wisely in order to complete this challenge.  I cannot relax in the evening and watch Dick Van Dyke episodes on dvd  with the family :)  Some days, I simply want to veg at the end of the day but the wise thing to do is to spend that time reading God's Word.  So, has it been easy? No.  Has it been worth it? YES!

God's Word is alive with truth and promises. The more I read, the more the Lord opens my eyes to His truths!  It is so worth the commitment and sacrifice.

Pray for me the next two weeks.  We will be leaving Monday for NC, so I will need to find time to read while staying in a hotel room with the family and visiting with friends.  Maybe this past week was preparation!

Until next week...

  1. Karen,
I'm still here. I'm behind, but have been using the mp3s to catch up. My goal is to finish reasonably close to the 90 days.
Hoping we can meet up when you're here. My family will be here from out of state though so we'll be busy until next weekend.

  2. I haven't started the challenge yet :(. But, I am going to in the next week. I love unwinding in the evening, well actually before bed and falling asleep to The Donna Reed Show, Dick Van Dyke, Little House and I Love Lucy.I should be listening to my Bible on cd. Will keep you posted on how it goes! Barbara

I would love to hear from you, so please comment and let me know you've stopped by!
